They were best friends.
The kind who talked about everything and nothing. The kind who could turn an ordinary day into a memory just by being together. The kind who never thought they'd have to wonder if they would still be friends someday.
But somewhere along the way, things changed.
The conversations became less frequent. The misunderstandings became harder to fix. The things left unsaid became heavier than the things they once shared.
And before she knew it, her best friend became a stranger.
She still misses her. She still wishes they could go back to the way things were,to the half an hour recess conversations, the stupid jokes, the comfort of knowing there was always someone to run to.
But she also knows that sometimes, wanting someone back doesn't mean they're meant to come back.
So she writes the words she never got to say...
not to force her friend to stay, but to finally let herself admit the truth:
She misses what they had.
She misses who they were.
And more than anything, she wishes they never became strangers.
