Amaya Maxine Richardson is from a small town where everyone knows everyone. She works at a cupcake shop called Hearts and Banners. One day, an odd little man walks in, passes a note across the counter, and says something equally strange. And then he leaves without another word. Amaya thinks nothing much of it, and heads to the back room. But she feels faint, and suddenly she passes out, falling unconscious to the floor. When she wakes up, she feels warm sand beneath her, and the heat of the sun shining on her skin. The sound of water fills her ears, and she can smell the salty ocean on the breeze. When she looks up, there is a house on a hill of sand. It's standing just slightly too crooked to be normal, and something just doesn't feel right, but what? And why?

Let me give you an image: An uptight, emotionless ball of killing intent with dark glares who scared his own family. Scratch that. Instead, imagine a goofy young boy with no social filter, loved cacti, was gay, and was often called odd or unorthodox by the elders of his village. He had a demon sealed in him that taught him how to swear and tried to help him make friends. He was also the one to facepalm at his vessel's antics. Yeah. That's Gaara. :: Lots of cursing, since Gaara is an odd one and Shukaku isn't a good influence. [Basically a Crack fic, all brain vomit]

Odd Squad one shots just like the title says. i appreciate requests and i do not own Odd Squad or any of the characters (obviously) enjoy! (Little disclaimer) In terms of romantic relationships, I only write for girl x guy relationships. I don't feel comfy writing anything other than that if it's in a romantic way. I also write some stories just focused on friendships so obviously I'm cool with writing friendship between guys and friendships between girls but respectfully, nothing romantic between guys and guys or girls and girls because I personally don't feel comfortable with writing that. Just wanted to clear that up.

I wrote this by giving myself a few challenges. First I wanted to write a story from a second person perspective, I decided the best way for that would be to tell it from the perspective of a character in the story but not the protagonist. Second, I wanted to create a story that started from the middle, sort of, as well as introducing characters without explanation and them developing as the story goes. Third,I wanted to write in the past while intersecting the present; I know it's not that difficult but I've never done it. Last, I wanted to combine topics that were contradictory. i don't know if I succeeded but it is what it is. I used some anime as inspiration, you can most likely guess what they are.
