The time has come for a new type of human. The year is 3003, and a lone starship crosses a galaxy at war to find an ancient substance. Lastly, the optimistic outcast Derrick May finds himself thrust into the viper's nest of the Twin Dolphins Palace, the heart of EarthGov, where he is sent to investigate a mysterious crime that proves to have far reaching consequences. Enemies surround an embattled cast who all find themselves repeatedly drawn to one place: that ancient, all-important planet, Misery. This is a story of heroes attacked from all corners, fighting against all the odds, even themselves, to conquer a world of nihilism and forever-wars. [Discontinued] -- Isidro Vasquez, Author Fifteen year old Morgan West runs away from his abusive and neglecting foster parents. He doesn't have any parents, friends, or anyone who even cares about him. No one but his younger foster brother, Dennis McCain. All he wants is to find a nice spot for him and his brother to stay, and he ends up lost in the woods. Morgan then comes across this strange bright blue glow erupting from a tree. Out of curiosity, he walks over and sees that the blue glow is a giant portal. He tries to back away from it, but is met with an unexpected surprise: strange men arrive and order him to stop. Frightened, Morgan tripped and fell back into the portal. When he wakes, he finds himself in a green meadow and sees a beautiful young girl his age standing over him. The girl is Viessa Keyleth, elven princess of King Rickard Keyleth of Leozacia. Her kingdom is currently under occupation of necromancer by the name of Dakath the Desolater. The two don't immediately get off on the right foot, but they reluctantly need to help each other. Viessa knows about the Moonstone Ring, a ring that can create portals to other worlds, and it's locked in her kingdom vault. Morgan has to help her get her kingdom back so he can rescue his brother from their parents.
