After observing trilliums (the official flower of Ontario) near a path in a secluded park, the trilliums return after a long winter inspired me to write this pandemic poem.

Broken Wings is the story about a boy who learned to fly with his broken heart. Through abuse, abandonment, and endless doubt, he clings to only one dream: to fly. Not just in the cockpit of a plane, but out of the life that tried to define him. Content Warning This book contains themes and depictions of substance use (including drugs and alcohol), verbal and physical abuse, self harm, mental health struggles, and suicide. I have a lot of finished chapters but just not edited and published yet.
