When Otabek was given his first assignment in the Introductory Carer Program, he naively assumed that his debut case would be an easy one. Instead, he was paired with Yuri Plisetsky, a boy who never left his house and was something of a mystery and a point of pain for his plethora of carers he'd chased away. Initially, Otabek was skeptic. Never before had he met somebody quite so difficult to get through to, but he wouldn't allow himself to be discouraged. Yuuri Katsuki is starting the second semester of his junior year in high school, but he is having trouble focusing due to an exchange student from Russia. When Yuuri gets drunk at a party he makes a choice that could change him forever.

After the Grand Prix Final is over, Otabek is happy for Yuri's victory, slightly annoyed at JJ for stealing the medal that really ought to have been his, and planning a quiet night in, and maybe a long midnight bike ride.
