Avi is the moon and the Lovely Lady is the sun...Their love story is a tragedy--they exist in what seem to be separate universes and the sun refuses to change.
Like most of you who have heard Avi Kaplan’s original song, “Lovely Lady,” my jaw dropped the first
time I heard it. It’s a tender, bittersweet song about lost love, but as I listened to it again and again, it just blew my mind even more. The symbolism and metaphors in the song make it poetry. Seriously, Avi is a modern John Keats. As an English major, I enjoy analyzing poetry, so I wrote an informal analysis essay on the song. Of course, this is only one interpretation and I am one person. If anyone else sees something interesting in the song that I may have overlooked, you are more than welcome to add your two cents to the discussion!
