This story takes place of the original Sandlot but has an enemies to lovers and a friends to lovers storyline like the Sandlot 2. More of a friends to lovers trope. Amelia Baker is a girl who just moved to a small town in Los Angeles, CA with her mom, dad, and little brother Austin. In this town the only person or people who seems to be nice to her is a kid who goes by Phillips and his baseball buddies. She trust Phillips and he tells her everything she wants to know or everything he thinks she should know. Amelia learns that Phillips isn't as honest as he plays to be and the "Sandlot kids" aren't as bad as she thought they were. Amelia in the process of figuring out her feelings for each team captain, she needs to figure out her healing process with her grandmothers passing. Everyday there's something new going on in Amelia's life and she can't handle it on her own.

Striker's life is softball. She's the best pitcher in her town but she's humble about it so she flies under the social radar. Her focus has always been on softball so her life outside of the sport is quite uneventful. Now a Junior in high school, she feels like she's been missing out. Aiden's passion is baseball and he's the star player of the town but he couldn't be anything further from humble. He's known for being loud, arrogant, conceited and Striker can't stand him. But unlike the softball superstar, Aiden does have a life and he sure knows how to live it to the fullest. When Aiden gets himself in some trouble during the season, his coach punishes him by having him sit the season out. On the softball team's bench. As their manager. If he chooses not to help out the girls' team, he will be benched for his senior year as well. The team's new "manager" ends up being a real curveball for Striker. But maybe a curveball will end up being her perfect pitch.
