#PlanetOrPlastic Jane wakes up to the plastic mug 'Leader of the plastics' attacking her in her Cabin on a boat. She is thrown into the ocean by this mug and his army, including the wrapper of her favorite chocolate. Then she wakes up gasping, in the same bed as before, realizing, it was just a dream. Or, was it? ___________ Wattpad has teamed up with National Geographic to raise awareness about the issue of single use plastic pollution. This entry may seem better from a kid's point of view, or a better bed-time horror story, but it's important to realize, kids do learn by watching other people. If you don't want your kids to Damage the Planet further, you could help them see that you are trying to change your ways and they will try to change much more than you.

Just because our species hold more power Does not mean we get to misuse it on others The planet holds more than just us It holds numerous of dazzling, enchanting species of flora and fauna And none of us have the right to take this beauty from the world. Here is my entry for the #PlanetOrPlastic competition with National Geographic. The ocean is one of the most beautiful things on this planet, and I hate seeing what we have done to it. I don't care who wins this contest, I certainly don't expect to, but I think the more people who write stories like these and make their voices heard, especially about something as important as this, the better. I hope you like it! [First published in 2018]

Visiting your local lake where you grew up should be an exciting experience. A chance to re-live the memories and remember the special moments you had. When visiting only a few years later, pollution has taken over and taken its sea creatures with it. Who's to blame? We are. Humanity. The extinction of animals and our sea life is real and happening as we speak. Lets make a change now . . . Before it's too late. I'm very excited & proud to announce that I'm working with The National Geographic on a super exciting contest! I'm very passionate about saving our planet, our animals and our sea life. I am a huge animal lover and it devastates me knowing the extinction of certain beautiful creatures could be prevented if we simply take action. Pollution and extinction is real and happening right now as we speak. Enter the contest using #PlanetOrPlastic and let us all spread the word and save our planet before it's too late. https://www.wattpad.com/story/163475700-planetorplastic-writing-contest A short story written by Sakz15 #PlanetOrPlastic

"This has got to stop", she thought as she swam in a sea of haunted waste, as the pieces of plastic bags were coming towards like acting ghosts of the human error, killing everything in their path. "How could anyone live like this?", she thought as the corpse of a poor puffer fish caught in a plastic cup, flew by her. For a second there, she wished for the poles to melt and drown her kind all. But that wasn't the answer to the end that was on the horizon, waiting for them to miss a step once more. She wanted to cry. She knew that wasn't the answer either, so she dried her eyes and tried to focus. There must be an answer to stop or to delay it all, to help the planet recover, to help themselves. It may require a lot of time and patience but it was the only way. She will educate herself more, she will start talking to people about these pressing matters, she will be persistent in her recycling and in her way of life. And maybe through her actions and her words, she will change other people, and together will change the world. Or maybe there are others who have thought or are thinking the same thing as her right now, and they have already started the change. And more and more people will think like them, will act like them and will want to save the world. Because, even if not everybody is aware, the desire to survive is what guides them all.
