A 16 year old girl, Kassidy moves to Poway California with her mom and grandma right after her parents divorce. She's into skating, music, being crazy and outgoing but she is also lonely. Her mom one day encourages her to go out and talk to the neighbor boys who just happen to Be Tom Delonge, Mark Hoppus and their group of friends before they got famous, and as she does she realizes they're just like her and she helps them pursue they're dreams of becoming musicians. Eventually she falls for one of the boys and it impacts her whole life.

Fifteen year old Charlia has to do a class project. The project? Correspond to a pen pal. Thinking that it would be over email, Charlia and her classmates concluded that it was going to be easy. That was until she discovered that it was going to be handwritten. Alex couldn't understand why he'd decided to do this, but he felt that it would motivate him to write. So when a school had put out a request for people to be a part of the pen pal project, he signed his name up, inspiration lacking and frustration growing. What happens when Alex is paired up with Charlia and when things go wrong, he's the only one there for her? When pen is put to paper, words come tumbling out, even without meaning to. Grayscale are an American pop punk band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania[4][1][3].
