What if the Phantom of the opera became an actual ghost in 2016 and he has unfinished business that is when he meets a young girl who can set him free. Will she set him free? Will they fall in love? Or will she break his heart and give up on him?

She spent most of her time with her one and only friend Meg Giry, studying, and singing. She never saw the jealous looks from the girls, or adoring glaces from most, if not all, the guys. She wanted to wait for that one person she knew was just right for her. Erik Destler wonders the exact same thing. He's unearthly talented with music. But, who could ever love someone who is far too ugly, and would keep them hidden away? No one... or so he thinks. Now, Christine is graduated from high school. She is taking a year off to work at a local bookstore that she absolutely loves, and save up some money to pay the costly fees of college and some money of her own. Erik is still living his normal life, away from everyone and everything... besides Nadir of course. Will they ever find that one person? E/C

I apologize. ^^; They're mainly self-inserts, but I'll try to keep the perspective from (Y/N)'s point of view. I'm open for suggestions, just as long as I haven't done it already (like, ice cream for POTO. I've already done it, but I could do it for other fandoms!). Erik Destler has fallen ill. He visits a town doctor who delivers the difficult news that Erik has no more than a year to live. Since Christine had left him, he had wished for nothing more than to die. Now, that the reality of death is approaching, he can't help but feel regret on the life that he had lived. In the days after his diagnosis, he decides to get a lifetime worth of living into the one year he has left.

This story takes place 10 years after the story of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Love Never Dies'. Gustave starts his quest to find out who his mother really was.

The Phantom returns to his old home with the hopes of burning it down. Upon his arrival, he finds mourners, lamenting the death of a righteous woman, Madeleine Destler. He turns to an old house servant, Marie Perrault, asking to have a moment alone with his mother's corpse. All he ever wanted was to kiss his mother's cheek, however, a young raven-haired woman refuses to leave his mother's side. *Inspired by: "The Phantom of the Opera" by Gaston Leroux and "The Phantom" by Susan Kay.
