In a society sometimes secrets are kept to protect the well being of their citizens. Other times it is to maintain control. You see the Ark had a problem with the second type of secrets. Now meet Willa Larkin. She has a knack at finding out secrets and she isn't one for "ignoring the problem until it goes away." So of course she does something about it.
