Small-town lies. Big-time twists... What's a jaded bartender to do when her imprisoned brother begs her to delve into their father's old murder conviction? How about peel back the lies, upend the fairy tales, and roil the populace of Lavitte-a sweet apple of a town with a wormy, festering core? That's what Allison Fennimore chooses. Despite her infamous surname and people's wilted memories, Allison sinks her teeth in and refuses to let go. She can practically taste the bitterness of that long-ago, twisted night when two teenagers-linked to her father by bad luck and a few strands of rope-wound up dead. Ignoring the aggrieved local atmosphere, Allison stirs the pot, but every exposed lie makes the truth more elusive. Soon, a key source of information dies under questionable circumstances, and the dark edges of resentment coil around Allison like a slowly tightening noose. As revelations get ugly, she may wish she'd never ventured toward the forbidden fruit of truth.

A Western Detective/Lawman Novel A killer leads three lawmen a merry chase into dangerous renegade Kiowa territory. How will they get out of this one? A Harvard educated Indian, his 6'2" cowboy partner, and a long-past-retirement sharp old deputy track a clever killer across the desert, to Chicago, find themselves in the midst of renegade Kiowas, and get lost in a mountain avalanche. How will they extricate themselves from this one? Tyrone Narrowhawk: a Harvard educated Indian known as Hawk, raised by a powerful federal judge, given a U.S. Marshal’s star and sent covertly into the western territories using his wits and a gun. Merle Johnson: a former Calvary Lieutenant sharp shooter turned cowboy, a good make to have at your back. Pike Winslow: an old cowboy lawman well past retirement age that hasn’t slowed down a bit. In his day he taught Hawk a few things. Many others make up this adventures tale of daring-do in the old west. Reviews: ***** I don't know which I liked better, Educated Injun (book 1) or Chicago Chase (book 2). I'm glad I read them both.  ·· W.R. Masters   **** I loved the detail and the interplay between the characters. The author also did a fine job of describing the chase through the town and the handcar process. The imagery was specific enough for me to picture everything in my mind, but not so much so that it bogged down the action.  Overall, I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to folks who love a good western, a good chase or mischievous characters with a lot of personality (gotta' love how Hawk always manages to snag one or more of the Judge's cigars).  ·· Patricia Hamill on Goodreads

It has been nearly eighteen years since Kota saved Eirenae. Eighteen years since Eirenae found her voice, broke free from her captivity, and aided in the defeat of her perpetrator and the scattering of his little band of hunters. Now, their daughter, Emerald, is coming of age to write her own story, find her mate, and lead her pack going forward. Except Emerald doesn't want her written fate. She wants to be alpha and lead her pack as grandly as her father has, and she doesn't want a mate. Unfortunately for her plans, the Moon Goddess has paired her up, not only with a mate, but another alpha. Resisting is torture, as her soul calls out for his, and he doesn't understand her hesitation. As she keeps her distance, she physically weakens, deteriorating faster than werewolfly possible. In her depleted state, she's snatched from school and taken to her infamous grandmother's house-the palace-by two of the Royal guard. There, she learns more about herself, her species, her pack, and her heritage. But the other packs are desperate to get Eirenae onto the throne that is technically rightfully hers. The frustration-along with the kidnapping of the royal granddaughter-may just start a new kind of turmoil no one has really prepared for. Which War will be fatal, ending in disaster? Emerald's mental battle against her own feelings for her mate? Or the physical war the werewolf kingdom has been sucked into? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -Book 2 -Succeeds "Silent Luna" -Precedes "Hidden Fox" -Started: April 2nd, 2019 -Completed: April 19th, 2020 -#11 in Telekinesis 4/25/2020 -#1 in Bloodshed 5/22/2020 -#2 in alphasmate 3/15/2023 REWRITE -Succeeds "Breaking the Silence" -Precedes "Hidden Fox" -Started: February 9th, 2023 -Completed: September 4th, 2023 -Published: February 29th, 2024 #2 in Paperback 12/19/24

The forgotten temple of the Goddess Narine, the mystical Lady Mist, and a new army controlled by evil. Will they overcome such tremendous odds?   The deep desert is a vast wasteland, thousands of miles of shifting sands and blowing winds. Ancient obelisks are discovered leading to the forgotten temple of the Goddess Narine. The reading of the Twelve Tablets brings forth a mystical being, but also releases a powerful evil. All the people of the eastern and deep desert are in peril. Those possessed by the evil must be stopped before it can be brought back into balance. Can it be done?   Don't miss this exciting tale of an ancient Goddess, mystical evil, and epic battles! Reviews: ***** ...What I most enjoy about this story is the ability of the author to draw one into the minds of his characters, even those who happen to be on the "wrong" side of the battle. Additionally, the banter is natural and entertaining, the characters are complex and dynamic, and the battles are epic and exciting. On that note, few authors are able to narrate a battle with such skill that they can keep me from skimming through them, but R.L. Kiser is one of them.  ·· Patricia Hamill on Goodreads **** R.L. Kiser has created a really epic trilogy with the Tales of the Crystal series and I have loved each one more than the other. The Twelve Tablets is fast paced and it really forces your brain to try to keep up with all of the action, while at the same time keeping you engaged in the characters. For me, this book is very character driven and I like that fact. Each character is well fleshed out and you can picture them in your mind and understand why they choose to do the actions they do. Lovers of fantasy are really going to enjoy this last installment of the series because it hits all the key points you like to see in well written fantasy work. I am glad that I started reading this series and would highly recommend it. ·· Kathryn Bennett for Readers' Favorite
