Eileen O'Connor is smart, talented and ambitious, which is the side of her everyone knows. She is also warm and compassionate, a side she reveals only to a trusted few. Eileen also has a secret. She is the magical and mysterious Christmas Elf who decorates porches, shovels walkways and leaves Christmas cookies while her neighbors are not at home. Michael was once a lawyer but has now found his true calling as owner of an authentic Irish pub. He knows that Eileen is the one for him as soon as she walks through the door one winter evening. Her generosity of spirit inspires his own and he vows to be for her what she is for everyone else. A winter storm is coming, bringing with it an ex-girlfriend with plans of her own. The storm threatens the magic of Christmas and the ex-girlfriend is ready to do whatever it takes to win Michael back. Michael and Eileen must both find a way to save Christmas and the tenuous beginnings of a love that comes along just once in a lifetime.
