Now, descend through its layers and discover what waits in the one place even the flames can't reach. Sad Sundays is my weekly space to share melancholic poetry, words that help me navigate the stillness, the weight, and the quiet storms of recovery. Each Sunday, I post a new piece that I've written, using poetry to process my journey through detox and rehab, to face the difficult parts of healing, and to find meaning in the silence. Every poem is written by hand with help from the Rhymezone platform. This series is as much for me as it is for anyone who finds comfort in knowing they're not alone on their gray days. I will eventually try to tie most of my work together into a larger piece, but first and foremost, this will function as a collection of my writings while I am going through detox. Christmas/seasonal themed poem series - they vary from humorous to gloomy, haiku's to sonnets, religious to trivial, yet all are short and most have somewhat of a twist. Thomas suffers severe anxiety. It watches his every move, it judges and decides his every action. It's become the little voice in the back of his mind, talking as though it were a separate person. The more stressed Thomas is, the more active the voice, whom he has named Uriah, becomes. When it comes to a big math test, Uriah won't leave him alone. This piece is a statement on clinical anxiety, and attempts to capture the random yet overwhelming feeling thousands of teens suffer every day.

Now, he's sentenced to living out his never-ending life, deciding everyone's fate before they're even born with a shadow over his face. Literally. When it's Elliott Baxter's turn for her fate to be carried out, Fate sees something in this not-so-human girl. Saving her from her former fate, he starts unraveling her story by manipulating her dreams, her head, her heart, her family and friends, even bringing her deepest and darkest fears to life. In this dark tale, there aren't any knights in shining armor, princes, or damsels in distress. For once, you'll be able to put a face to all of Heaven and Hell. For once, the villain might just win.

It's the normal thing that's going in all houses, maybe it's a new thing that has evolved in modern houses due to insecurity of the modern world.
