Nox had gone to all the shelters and reputable spots to find a pet human. Not just any pet human, a service human. One that could help him when his old war injuries made it impossible to do something. One that could fetch his medicine, or sit with him if he was having a flashback, or just to be company on a good day. This is a short, honest look at a life shared with a dog. A life made warmer by his presence, and remembered long after he is gone.
