Dan was never good with people. Maybe his homeschool education contributed to that. Unfortunately for Dan this summer his mother decided he needed more friends. Sent off to a quaint posh school full of boys Dan decides he is most definitely not good with people.

When Daniel Howell attends Elveridge Highschool for the very first time after moving from his hometown of Manchester, people can automatically see that he's not a people person. He absolutely hates his new life especially since when he moved, he left behind his girlfriend of 5 years, Breelyn. Then he meets a certain colorful boy who tries to convince him to join the swim team and then things begin to change.

Phil Lester is a young man, working in a small London coffee shop with his flatmate, Sabrina. Life in the coffee shop isn't to interesting, unless you enjoy hearing customers gossiping about their friends all day, every day. Eventually, Phil notices a dark eyed boy making an appearance daily, ordering the same thing, sitting in the same spot. Phil doesn't know what to think of the boy, but soon realizes he would like to know the boy. What is happening? He feels a lust for the boy that he can't really explain. What will happen, and will he care for coffee?

In an alternate universe, every child who dies has a certain fate. If they are sent to Hell, they become an imaginary friend to a another young child that will eventually outgrow them. Then, the friend will be sent down forced into eternal damnation for the entirety of their existence. If they are sent to Heaven, they are given a second chance and become a soulmate and live out the rest of their existence with their chosen soulmate. Every person who's fate is to be a soulmate is placed into a chosen family, and they must make it their life goal to find their person. In this case, Daniel Howell is selected to become a soulmate to a young boy by the name of Phillip Lester, who's mother just so happens to be close friends with his own chosen mother.
