Lost in the rhythmic percussion of waves. My first entry and short story for the #PlantOrPlastic to 'wake up the world to the potential impact of single-use plastic' I think it is so important to impact the world on the harmful effect plastic has on wildlife. I take pride in picking up pieces around my neighbourhood and I am so happy to become apart of this experience in using the Wattpad platform to make the world aware of the harmful risks of it. Although my account may be small, carrying barely any followers or views on any work I publish, I am more than happy to use my voice in order to be heard by at least somebody! Thank you for letting me be apart of this magnificent eye-opening writing competition.

My generation cannot be our ocean's last. I stand with @NationalGeographic and their pursuit of change. This is my contribution to the written effort, a short story of what we are doing to our planet- and how to do your part. Join me by writing your own unique interpretation or giving this story a vote, widening its horizons. Best wishes, Emily. #PlanetOrPlastic

This story is an Eragon fanfic. My name is Luke and I have written this story for those who do not wish to wait for the fifth book and need a temporary replacement. I myself am one of these people and have decided to right my own book to fill in my emptiness. This story is about a young woman who wishes to become a rider but finds it impossible. However, she prevails and is rewarded for her perseverance.

Dear Owner, I thought you might be looking for me so when a passing diver pulled out a camera I dragged myself into the picture in the hope that you might spot me. I'm out of focus but hopefully you can see me on the bottom right, below the ray. I often think of the day we met. I was beautiful in those days: filled with brightly coloured sweets and encircled by a pink satin ribbon. I was surrounded by swirly lollipops and intricate chocolate mice but your hands reached past them and clasped me and I flushed with pride. I came home with you. I sat in your warm, snug cupboard. I watched excitedly as your bottles and jars were emptied and then refilled, or placed into the recycling box for a new adventure. One day it was my turn.

There comes a time in our lives, that which we feel like we could make a difference in something in what we do. A small thing it often is, but it has its own impacts. A single decision can be enough to change the world for years to come, like the rippling waves of the ocean. But what would people decide on if it meant their very future was at the brink of damnation? My first entry for National Geographic's #PlanetOrPlastic writing contest
