While "the people" are changing habits to save the planet, product manufactures are changing their packages so that they're larger and heavier than they were the year before. Humans produce enough plastic each year to cover three U.S. states.

Plastic or Planet, What would you choose?

It's better to prevent it than figuring out a solution when it is already out of hand. Let's not wait for it to come or happen. Time won't stop for us but we can prevent these disasters from happening. Stop. Look. Listen. To what nature has to say to you. Don't wait for the time that our once green lands, blue seas, and clean air will become something we have all feared. It's never too late to change and maybe when you do you might not know it but you might have just saved a life or two.

#Plastic or planet. I focused on a girl named Emma who lives near the ocean and it's been with her for most of her younger life, and how she stopped seeing it because it was turning into something ugly.

Have you ever stopped to hear the cries of the Ocean? To feel her anguish at the suffering of her children? Just because something doesn't speak our tongue doesn't mean it isn't sentient. I've published it for the contest but I am also publishing it to everyone else so that maybe it makes a change on Wattpad as well *edit* it's to late for this to be part of the competition but I still think it's important to read so that's why I publishing it and hoping people enjoy it

This is a short story that I have written for the contest Nation Geographic is hosting, Plastic or Planet. All the characters and events are a product of my imagination, none of this holds any resemblance to any real life incident but however, the story does convey the main message, the purpose of this contest which is how our irresponsibility and carelessness is the cause of death and extinction of marine life.
