From a young age, I have always held myself in higher regard than my family did. I believed that I could work anything out. All my classmates were in awe of me. I naturally exerted power over them, and they elected me as class representative time and time again. At home, a baseball bat reminded me to obey my mum every time I tried to prove her wrong. Why was it so hard to see that one plus one equals two? Being beaten and isolated in a sardine can for long periods of time led me to the world of words in the thesaurus to help me cope with my difficult life. However, I no longer recognise the person I have become....... Author's Note 📝 All of my writing and photography is original. Salt & Honey is a collection of poems about the beauty and ache of being human. Through themes of love, loss, healing, and hope, each piece blends the sting of salt with the sweetness of honey, capturing life's bittersweet moments and the strength found within them. Inspired by my great-grandma, a woman who always saw the positive side of everything, strong as a rock, ready to forgive, always giving. Thank you for everything! We'll meet in between words and say bye with the sunset.

Thoughts. Words. Feelings. All of these are things we experience on a daily basis. Of course, it varies from person to person; how many thoughts we have, how deeply we feel, how we use our words. This is but my experience, shared with the world. My thoughts voiced for my own peace of mind. My words spoken for all to hear. My feelings bared, heart on my sleeve. The darkness within us all sometimes intimidates us, and we can all but hide inside closets where our masks and skeletons dance.

I'm running out of explanations here. I'm winging it. I'm always winging it. The title just felt right and damn, here we are. It's poetry so if it's not your thing, you might like it. Occasionally, it may be a little prose, depending on the feeling but we'll try to keep it consistent. Does anyone ever even read these things? Ok it's about a boy, a lonely boy. Sometimes he feels like he's a thousand leagues under the sea. Other times, it's like he's been severed from reality. Whatever that means. This boy, just wants the world to understand him. But it has no obligation to. So he's stuck on the outskirts of everything and everything else hoping for some sense of clarity. It never comes. It never will. This is a documentation, of his never ending pursuit. That was decent, right? I do love letters, letter letters, confessions, police statements on the side, in case you need them. Basically, I'll handle the ever living heaven out of your writing needs. The sick part, is that it's free so feel free.. to blast the message board and I'll take the time I usually use to do something constructive and meaningful to tend to your requests. Ek ladki thi deewani si, ek ladke pe woh marti thi... Aysel- I didn't think I'd fall in love, especially not when I am in my last year of college, definitely not for a charming college singer with dimples that make my heart skip a beat. But here I am, drowning in thoughts of him. With baggage weighing me down, my heart is already in crumbles but Danish feels like healing, every talk, every walk only makes me fall for him hopelessly but to him I'm just a friend. But every time he does something for me, I find myself falling deeper. By the end of this year before we part our ways we will either make it or break it, either way it's only me who's heart is at risk. The only rational thing to do is stay away from him but Sharukh Khan says "Ek hasi aur baat lo, ek sapna aur dekh lo, kya pata kal ho na ho"- so I let myself fall for him, who knows what tomorrow holds ? (Share one more smile, dream once again, who knows if tomorrow ever comes ?) Is he the guy of her dreams, is Danish coming to save her or is he a monster himself ? A beautiful ballerina, romantic at heart- bollywood fascination to blame. Juggling corporate ambitions, too many challenges to face, too many dreams to break.
