Not part of "The Human Ache Series" This is a poetry book that is completely personal. I write poems to help cope with feelings. And the book I'm currently writing has a specific theme so I can't exactly vent in it. So you can consider this book a vent poems book. The poems in this are free verse poems (or sometimes rhyming) where I just rambled about how I was feeling. I might professionally organize this book once it finishes but I do not intend to now so it'll not have any intros or symbolism explanations for now. I'll just use it to write my feelings when I'm overwhelmed (which I am very often).You may not take it seriously or even consider it a part of my writings so far. I might also use this book to write poems for contests and stuff in the future. (The picture used to make the cover does not belong to me. The credits go to the respective owner.)

About the Poem "The Different Price of No" was born from something I witnessed at home today. While my maid was working, I found myself thinking about how differently the word "no" can affect people from different working backgrounds. Even when extra money is offered for an additional task, sometimes a simple request can turn into an argument or refusal simply because it wasn't part of the original agreement. It made me think about my own life. I, Lavanya Y. Rao, earn ₹15,000 a month working at a company in Okhla while living in Hauz Khas. From that salary, I manage my own transportation, and sometimes even my food when I don't carry it from home. There are no excuses when work demands more-I have to keep going because saying "no" can come with consequences. At the same time, I found myself wondering about the people who work in several homes and earn from each one. I don't believe anyone should be treated without respect, but I also feel that extra work, especially when extra money is offered and other work is taken off their hands, shouldn't always become a reason for resentment. This poem is simply my reflection on that difference-the different weight that "no" carries depending on where we stand. About the Author I am Lavanya Y. Rao, a new writer who has recently started putting my feelings, observations, and emotions into poems. Many of my poems begin with ordinary moments that make me stop and think about something deeper.
