The atmosphere that hovered amongst the desolate city was dense, and was thickening by the hour. Ruins lay scattered across the city, dust adorning the surface of the ground, buildings collapsing almost every minute. Skyscrapers toppled from all around, their supposedly strong foundations caving in. Menacing shadows surfaced and enveloped the whole of the city. The human race had been vanquished, and the end of time had come. A pungent smell lingered, and the city was only just becoming acquaintance with death. Every workplace, every shop, every home disappeared, all crumbled to a powdered grit. Doom hung over the city like the closing shutters of happiness. The city was dead, and this was only the start.
