The air was stale here, smelling of damp mortar and the sour tang of rain trapped in stone. A thin blade of streetlight knifed through the end of the lane, pale gold against the black, and she fixed on it. Her pulse drove hard enough to thrum in her teeth, rattling through her skull with each step. Then the sound split the night. A Highmarch car came in sideways, metal shrieking as its tir tore across the cobbles. It slid into place, cutting the passage at the throat like a final punctuation mark. His silver-white hair rested neatly on his shoulders, and his cold blue eyes watched everyone in the hall. No one dared to speak. Suddenly... The huge palace doors opened with a loud sound. Bang! Royal guards walked inside, dragging a man in heavy chains. His black clothes were covered in blood. His long black hair hid part of his face. Even with chains around his hands, he walked without fear. The guards pushed him to his knees in front of the King. A minister stepped forward. "Your Majesty... this is Kael Draven." "He killed Lord Malrik in front of hundreds of people." The court filled with shocked whispers. "Lord Malrik is dead?" "How could someone kill him?" Everyone looked at Kael. They expected him to beg for mercy. But Kael stayed silent. Slowly... He raised his head. His deep red eyes met the King's blue eyes for the first time. Everything around them seemed to disappear. Kael couldn't stop looking at him. A small smile appeared on his face. Not a smile of fear... But a smile filled with curiosity. The King frowned. He had seen many criminals before. But no one had ever looked at him like this. The silence in the court became even heavier. No one knew... That this single meeting would change both of their lives forever. - End of Episode 1 -

Can Yuya and Sora play pretend in their given roles in the Fusion realm and would the Fusion pair be able to fit in and find comfort in a world of fun and colors that they have longed for so deeply? This is another short story I wrote. This is inspired from the chapter image. A man visits the faceless prisoner every three days. No one knows why he is there or what crime he has committed for him to stay there that long... how long has he been there? How does this man travel? Does it have something to do with the visiting man?
