Velas, a friend of To̅mi's, has been ordered by the Echo Haven chief to retrieve Elowen but keeps her in the dark about why. Velas, realizing she may need a companion, asks To̅mi to tag along and is slightly apprehensive when To̅mi brings Gabriella along because she's a normal human. Determined to prove herself to not only Velas but also To̅mi, Gabriella resolves to be resourceful during the adventure.
