And it certainly didn't matter that since they met on their first day in junior school, they've been some sort of academic rivals, always fighting each other for first place or being forced to share it. No. It was just that something you glimpsed and then turned back to view and saw clear as day: that the Head Prefects, no matter how stubborn they were, how immature and childish and hurtful they were towards one another, there was just that for them.
