She's very bubbly and friendly. People flock to her because of her welcoming persona. Even if she's having a bad day, she tries not to let it show. Indigo is like a butterfly, ready to spread her wings for the world. Luka Hendrix. It's safe to say that the guy hasn't had the greatest life. The guy doesn't necessarily like to talk about it much though. He's had a bit of an anger problem since he was a kid, which's got him into trouble quite often. That boy is something else. In school, he's deemed "The Bad Boy", due to the fact he gets in trouble quite a lot. From starting fights, to mouthing off teachers and everything in between. Soon, Luka becomes Indigo's next door neighbor. Which in turn, causes some very unexpected thing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Two completely different people cross paths. Come along this journey of teenaged angst, growth and maybe even love.

These are the confessions of a woke black girl. Every single that I find myself on this earth, I observe different problematic issues surrounding and within the black community as a collective. Issues that I believe are so obvious and alarming and occur everyday, yet it seems never to be a topic of discussion. I am using this platform to give a voice to these issues and shed light to whilst also aiming to make young black folk aware of them. These are the confessions of a woke black girl.

if you could define life by color, life before Him was kinda pale. the days were pretty and pink, but there was no warmth to give it vibrancy or nothing. every day was basically the same and exhaustingly boring. His arrival brought not only new colors and vibrancy, but meaning to the ones i'd already known. i loved it, the months where things were good between us felt like he showed me a new way of life that was totally different from everything. he left, snatching the color back from me. i don't know how i'll find anything like that ever again, so i suppose i'll try suppressing the memories. even if it means i fade to gray.

"Every night I fall asleep, he appears in my dreams. It's the same dream all over again, but everyday I find myself craving it more. I walk closer to a tall dark silhouette but his features are not as clear at first, I am just able to look at his lean figure. But then suddenly his features come to life and I'm able to gaze into his warm brown eyes as he holds me close. I brush my thumb under his scar on his cheek thinking of how insecure he is about it but it has always been my favorite thing about him. The way he had something different, something that made him stand out from others. He would then smile as he moved his hand from my waist and held my wrist. His smile was another one of my favorite things about him, his smile always brightened up my day. I then would bury my face in his chest and inhale his familiar scent that made me feel safe in his arms. And he would hold me against his chest and never let me go. "
