To̅mi Andrei - better known as Plasmasonic - is invited to compete in the Skyspire Circuit, one of the most intense hoverboard racing events ever conceived, held on Skyripper Mountain. The invitation comes from her friend Lorelei Feathercloud, who suspects something deeply wrong with the racers selected for the competition. The racers aren't just ambitious - they're vicious, unstable, and driven by unexplained hostility, as if something is pushing them beyond ordinary rivalry, and it seems too normal. Living in Sokovia has treated them well, but everyone feels that something is coming. His gaze doesn't leave me. If anything, it intensifies. I can't tell whether this is a part of his power or not, but either way it holds me down as if I couldn't leave--as if I didn't wan't to leave. So I don't, instead, I answer his question with a truth he cannot escape from. A truth he cannot twist against me nor deny. Why can I not be a true superhero, he wonders. Why? Peter Parker is headed to college, and the transition couldn't possibly be any tougher. All of his friends are leaving him, his job isn't getting any easier, and he still has to do the "superhero thing". However, things take a turn for the worst when, as a result from one of Spidey's battles, a loved one is hurt. It is now a battle against, not only a villain, but also against the world as he must now find a way to help the people that he loves. This story is set in my version of the MCU, so you will absolutely find references and see cameos from other Marvel characters from stories like "Secret Avengers" and "Spider-Man: Homecoming". You will still be able to enjoy it if you haven't read those books, but I highly recommend reading it as it'll further enhance your reading experience as you will be able to catch stray references and things like that! :)
