People only seem to remember the deeds of a villain. They forget how they are made into that monster. They forget how twisted and ugly it is. How their dissension into villainy was just as horrifying to see as what they did. Seeing their monster's create them into one just like them. Watching who they once were vanish and become evil, feeding this cycle, is so much worse. We all have a choice between good and bad but it's a whole new ball game when powers are involved.

"I wanted to be a hero once. I once wanted to be the adored idol of the masses who everyone could count on to save the day," I admit. He continues to look at me expectantly, as if what I was about to say was tantamount to knowing the many secrets of the universe. If only my past hopes were the secrets of the universe then maybe I wouldn't disappoint. "But then I realized that it was impossible," I continue. "A true super-hero was something I could never be, not even if I tried with all my might or even if I wanted it more than anything else in this entire world." Though his face is masked one thing stands out clear as the day; piercing emerald eyes that seem as if they're staring right through me. As if they're staring right into me. I don't dare move under his gaze, as if hypnotized and frozen in place, just like the very first time, until I'm snapped back into reality when a question leaves his mouth. "Why is that?" His gaze doesn't leave me. If anything, it intensifies. I can't tell whether this is a part of his power or not, but either way it holds me down as if I couldn't leave--as if I didn't wan't to leave. So I don't, instead, I answer his question with a truth he cannot escape from. A truth he cannot twist against me nor deny. Why can I not be a true superhero, he wonders. Why? With the progression of human society and the emergence of an ever-growing number of metahumans, there is unrest building in the vampire world; the struggle to remain hidden and striking from the shadows when they need to feed is becoming an increasing hassle, which they do not fancy. The two factions of the vampire society see different prospects as solutions. The Drucules, who already loathe the human race, wish to launch a preemptive strike on the human race in an effort to reduce its population. The Alucadians, more tolerant of humans, wish to emerge from the shadows with knowledge that could steer humanity into a lulling peace that would allow vampires alternatives to violence to obtain sustenance. Despite this, there is infighting within the vampire society that would see a civil war come about, infighting that seems to be fueled by a saboteur if anyone would care to observe events for more than two seconds.
