Somewhere nearby, Addy's small silhouette darted between shadows, fearless and unbothered, moving faster than her size suggested. Adam's jaw tightened. She shouldn't be here-but then again, she never listened.
The ground trembled underfoot, strange energy crackling in the air. Machines hummed and whirred, glowing lines slicing across the concrete like lightning trapped in circuits. This wasn't a normal night. Not by a long shot.
And neither of them had any idea what was coming next.
