We all know the tale, Light gets separated into two beings by the First Curse, meets the Aquamarines, has a valiant battle against the Soul Eater, and still ends up being Void's enemy. But... What if the roles were reversed? What if the First Curse was a general in the past, led attacks against the Darkness he knew, fought to the end for Elemental, and ended up in a different universe - forced to protect himself? This story follows the POV of Gift, an obsidian being with great powers that helped Oliver, the one who came to his world and helped all of the Steves. Light, the false hero of this world, had failed the Leaders for the last time. After Soren's death and Cliff's infection by the Darkness, the whole Kingdom became weary and hostile towards Light, some even going as far as physically attacking him to keep him away. He was being seen as a bad omen and it was putting his, and others, lives in danger. It was then that the Leaders made a hard decision, asking Light to step down for the sake of everyone. Of course, Light didn't hesitate and was more than willing, but after the fact and a near death experience, several people disagreed with the Leader's decision, some of which including his two best friends and the man who helped raise him in this cruel world. (Yes, another RR Fanfic, because I'm in the mood!)
