For once, Player was on summer vacation at the time and he was able to come in person and that's when he met Sonia, a junior V.I.L.E operative, who knows what mischief she's up to...Sonia and Player seeing each other in secret, although Sonia acts cold towards Player... A.C.M.E agents are still onto Carmen Sandiego and hold grey captured and figured that he lost his memory and use something to get his memory back. Danger once again causes their paths to meet, and Graham and Carmen find that their feelings might run deeper than just friendship. But there's not much time for soul-searching when V.I.L.E. is threatening to steal something more important than money: Their lives.
