But when Claire gets attacked and drained off her blood by an unexpected visitor Myrnin knows there is only one ways to save her, but the glass house gang are not going to like it. Will Myrnin ever find a way to her human again? Will Shane ever love her the way he used to? And will the gang ever find out who the mysterious and extremely dangerous visitor to Morganville is?

There are a few things in my life that I consider very bizarre. My best and only friend is a complete and utter jackass and lures girls in on a daily basis like he's some sort of ginormous chick magnet. My mathematics teacher thinks that it is actually considered cool to say "funky" and throw her thumbs up at any student who gets above seventy per cent in her surprise algebra quizzes. And - oh. Right. The town that I'm living in is run by pale-faced freaks. Yeah, welcome to my life.
