Bayek Patterson turns sixteen under the same gray Aberdeen sky he's known his whole life. Youngest of four brothers, drummer in a rock band, colorblind, loud, loyal, and impossible to keep out of trouble, Bayek has never had much interest in being quiet. His house is always full of noise: brothers arguing, Uncle Finch appearing without warning, his dad grading art projects at the kitchen table, his mom trying to keep everyone alive, and rain tapping steadily against the windows. Bayek knows who he is. Mostly. He knows he loves music. He knows Grub, his pet rat, is the only creature in the house with any real sense. He knows his brothers would torment him, defend him, embarrass him, and spoil him all in the same hour. He knows Aberdeen is small, wet, familiar, and impossible to escape even when he wants to. But sixteen has a way of making everything feel louder. The future. Family. Music. Love. The parts of yourself you inherit, and the parts you have to make on your own. For Bayek Patterson, growing up doesn't arrive like a revelation. It arrives like rain. And probably with someone yelling downstairs.

At a café that only appears after midnight, the dead come to say the words they never got to speak. Liz has spent years serving coffee to ghosts, listening to confessions that linger long after closing time. She knows the rules: Ghosts stay until they are ready to let go. Living people never find the café. Until Oliver walks through the door. He doesn't remember how he found the café, why he keeps returning every night, or why his presence feels dangerously wrong. But as the nights pass, Liz realizes one terrifying truth: Oliver is not dead. Not yet. And every night, he remembers a little less of her.

Seven teens. One crime. And one love they weren't allowed to feel. Hezlin Azaire never wanted to join the investigation team. Rain, books, and silence were more her thing - not solving a crime with people she can't stand. Hashim Reyan? Cold. Savage. Too smart. Too unreadable. The kind of guy who says he doesn't believe in love... but watches her like she's the case he can't close. Forced to work together for a month, Hezlin and Hashim are about to dig into something far deeper than any mystery - feelings, secrets, and a bond that breaks every rule. He fell first. She fell harder. He let go... or at least, he tried. And obsession? That never really leaves. 🎧 Rainy London. Enemies-to-lovers. Forbidden love. 🖤 For fans of dark romance, poetic chaos, and slowburn tension.

Sometimes it's that one moment, that one person, that one incident which is all that's required to change somebody. The extent to which they can change is scary. It's frightening to know what that one thing can do to someone. Sometimes the change is for the better and sometimes it's just their way of coping, of making sure nothing like that happens ever again. Sometimes the person you knew will come back eventually and sometimes they just die, waiting to be buried. I hope the poem helps capture those emotions. The transitions one goes through are compared to seasons. This is one of those poems that was hard to write and took me forever to complete but I love the end result and it was worth the time. This whole piece is very close to my heart for a million reasons and I really hope you can connect to it on some level as well.

A collection of poems and short stories I wrote. I will be updating it with more stories semi-regularly, as I continue to write them. I draw a lot of inspiration from authors like Hemingway, Remarque, Poe, and Sartre. Your feedback is always appreciated, hope you enjoy reading them as much as I do writing them! Please Note: I published a few of these stories on another website under a different username. As this is where I will be publishing for the time being I decided to include my favorites in this anthology. Update: Added two poems "Nothing" and "Ekphrastic" (21/01/19)

This is my first attempt at writing poetry since... probably the eighth grade. I write a lot of music, and someone suggested to me that I try writing poetry. I have included some of the lyrics to my songs cause I thought they kinda had a poetic feel to them. ;) I just figured, "ah, what can it hurt" and thought I'd give it a shot. So, with no further ado, I give you my poetry. Could be good or bad. Just a warning. Smile on, Emmy.
