"Yasmina honey, are you almost ready? We need to leave right now if you're going to make your plane" my mother shouted from the kitchen. "I'm right here." I said dropping my luggages on the floor in front of me.
I can see the pain in my mother's eyes as she's trying to hold back her tears in a failed attempt to not upset me. And i get it, she's saying goodbye to her daughter, it's perfectly okay to be upset. I was upset too, i was leaving everything behind, my friends, my family, my home, my stuffed animals, my culture, and i was moving away somewhere entirely different where i didn't know anybody.
That doesn't mean i wasn't excited for this new chapter in my life, i was always a fan of adventure, and i was extremely happy that i get to experience the greatest opportunity ever, i was moving to london for crying out loud!!
Let me give you a little background as to why i'm moving, i live in a small country in the middle east, i lived a perfectly happy and comfortable life, about a month ago my best friend told me she was accepted into the finest medical schools in France! I was extremely excited for her, her dream of going to France was finally coming true, she motivated me into trying my hardest to achieve my own dream, which was to study law in the uk. After some work everything was right on track, i was going to london!! With the help of my parents i rented out a small flat near the university, i bought a plane ticket and packed my bags. And now here we are!
Let the adventure begin!
