They call it a trial. A test of strength, obedience, and will. But everyone knows the truth: it's a death sentence. The Crucible was built to break people. Those who survive are shaped into weapons, molded by the ruling Houses to serve the system that watches from above. Lucian wasn't supposed to make it this far. No legacy. No loyalty. No mask to wear. But he's watching. Learning. Adapting. They think they're forging him into something useful. But Lucian doesn't play to survive-he plays to win. And by the time they see the threat he really is, he'll already be standing above them.

On Akuban, power is not inherited-it is mapped. The Beta Ha, an ancient order of seers, have spent centuries shaping the empire's future, guiding rulers toward the most stable outcomes. But as war looms and fate frays, their visions grow dark and uncertain. Rayor Chassisi was never meant to be more than a nomad. But when an assassination tears through the empire and war spills into his home, he is forced into exile-haunted by voices not his own, visions he cannot explain, and a destiny the Beta Ha whisper he cannot escape. Shai Rucanrian, princess and seer-in-training, has spent her life struggling to control the power that writhes beneath her skin. When her father is murdered and the empire falls into chaos, she becomes a pawn in a brutal game of survival-one where even the Beta Ha cannot see the outcome. Far from Akuban, in the cold corridors of exile, Rama Anemro has spent nineteen years hiding from the empire that slaughtered her family. But when an emissary arrives with an offer of war, Rama must decide if reclaiming her name is worth the price of blood. The Beta Ha have spent lifetimes ensuring balance. But the future is no longer certain, and as war breaks the patterns they've so carefully woven, one question remains: what happens when fate itself begins to unravel?

"Remember Alpha Napoleon. You will fight like him. Remember Alpha Genghis Khan. You will rule like him. ••• Young ones, use your strength and be ready to face your own. The strong will survive, and the weak will perish." His voice resonated in the big marble room, and after two complete seconds of silence, the students got the cue to clap. Some clapped softly while others were whistling, hollering and howling. And I just stood there. Feeling somewhat isolated in the middle of many agitated young Alpha-bloods, and thinking, No, he is wrong. They will all be dust by the time I'm done. ●●● 2086. Earth is no longer habitable for human. Only the 'mutants' such as werewolves, and witches has survived. Alphas waged wars against other packs more frequently as the human race diminished. A caste system has also begun to take place, clearly distinguishing Alpha-bloods and non-Alpha-bloods in brutal and petty ways. When Lumina Pierce, a typical teenage girl from an Omega family, gets accused for murder of an Alpha-blood, she is sentenced to death. A time limit has been plastered to her body by an unknown culprit, who's probably ran off the second he recognized what he have done. Meanwhile, the BlackHammers are searching for a new rebel after their humiliating failure of an uproar. When they hear the news of the murder, they just knew she would be their last chance of overtaking the Alpha committee. It would be different from the past. They weren't going to force themselves from the outside walls of power, they were going to spread the poison and let the society crumble from the inside. And their poison has surfaced from the dark. The most perfect, dauntless, fearsome girl has finally shown her face on the hologram screen. Lumina Pierce. ------------- Inspired by the wonderful novel, Red Rising by Pierce Brown.

For 786 years, there has always been The Society and it's Color castes: unskilled Red and the bottom, cruel and manipulative Gold on top, and every other color in-between. Each color served a purpose, and obviously color-coded like all those Goldbrows like. But quite frankly, I don't care about the system. No one aboard the Flock cares about the Color they belong to: just that we are together. And we are not caught-ever. But when the youngest of us gets caught... We unleash bloodydamn hell. (There is a lot of alternations to make this match, like how Ari ages. There will be no turning-into-an-eraser thing going on, and he and Max will not be siblings, but expect no shipping of these two.)

Could have spoilers (Some things are changed for the purpose of the story) Follow Virion Leywin into the world of Red Rising where he'll have to fight to survive. He'll fight and do what he does best within the institute as a newly reincarnated Gold. Virion is the Devil, so he'll do whatever he wants, colors are meaningless to him, titles as well. Will the power of being a gold get to his head, or will he stay the same person? Will he help or betray Darrow? What is his main goal? All will be found out as you read. For those who don't know who Virion Leywin is - He is a main character in my other story (My Beginning After the End) He's a loose cannon and will fit right into this world. There will be some spoilers to how that story ended in this fanfic, so beware if you plan on reading those. There is around seven hundred chapters across four titles. You do no have to read any of my other stories to know what is going on, I only suggest that you have some knowledge of the Red Rising Series. Disclaimer : Everything is owned by Pierce Brown. He owns the characters, settings, everything. Character Designs - Imagine

Originally marketed as a trilogy, Red Rising has turned into a six book saga by Pierce Brown, with a potential seventh yet to be released. Red Rising is the first book in this dystopian science fiction set on the planet Mars. It consists of 382 pages over 44 chapters. SPOILERS WILL FOLLOW. Following this preface I will track my reactions to the story and thoughts on the writing. I am not a professional author, editor, or reviewer. I have read this book before earlier this year, but plan to continue reading the series, so I decided to reread book 1 to remind myself what happens. I remember being intrigued by the cover and description, even though I am not usually one for science fiction novels. It took me a while to get into the story initially but once I was in, I was all in.

Hundreds of years before Darrow's great uprisal, humans inhabited Earth in a colorless society. Then, the Golds descended from Luna in the greatest event of recent history, the Conquering, which led to the rise of the Society. But the Conquering didn't happen by chance. It was the result of a brilliant conspiracy, forged by several individuals under extraordinary circumstances. The events that led to the conquering are complex intertwining the politics of ancient Earth, the scientific breakthroughs that led humanity to the stars, and the story of two men, Silenius and Akari, whose fates collided in an Iron Rain.
