There will be no turning-into-an-eraser thing going on, and he and Max will not be siblings, but expect no shipping of these two.)

He'll fight and do what he does best within the institute as a newly reincarnated Gold. Virion is the Devil, so he'll do whatever he wants, colors are meaningless to him, titles as well. Will the power of being a gold get to his head, or will he stay the same person? Will he help or betray Darrow? What is his main goal? All will be found out as you read. For those who don't know who Virion Leywin is - He is a main character in my other story (My Beginning After the End) He's a loose cannon and will fit right into this world. There will be some spoilers to how that story ended in this fanfic, so beware if you plan on reading those. There is around seven hundred chapters across four titles. Originally marketed as a trilogy, Red Rising has turned into a six book saga by Pierce Brown, with a potential seventh yet to be released. Red Rising is the first book in this dystopian science fiction set on the planet Mars. It consists of 382 pages over 44 chapters. SPOILERS WILL FOLLOW. Following this preface I will track my reactions to the story and thoughts on the writing. I am not a professional author, editor, or reviewer. I have read this book before earlier this year, but plan to continue reading the series, so I decided to reread book 1 to remind myself what happens. I remember being intrigued by the cover and description, even though I am not usually one for science fiction novels. It took me a while to get into the story initially but once I was in, I was all in.

Hundreds of years before Darrow's great uprisal, humans inhabited Earth in a colorless society. Then, the Golds descended from Luna in the greatest event of recent history, the Conquering, which led to the rise of the Society. But the Conquering didn't happen by chance.
