Rae Solari was never supposed to wake. In a world stitched together after the Collapse, refugees don't just cross borders - they cross time, fleeing a war that hasn't happened yet. Rae's always been a little strange: healing too fast, dreaming things she shouldn't know. She told herself it meant nothing. Then she sees the tent marked ANOMALY INTAKE, and a stranger's lips shape two words: Run. Now. Halcyon built a cage for people like her. She just found out she's one of them.

24-year old Ethan Hurst has never belonged. He's always been too impulsive, too hot-headed, and too reckless to fit into mainstream society. Alansa, the city of his birth and residence has always been inhabited by both werewolves and humans. However, recently, the city has seen a revival in social movements against the ghettoization of modern werewolves - individuals who choose to sleep in city apartments rather than the forest, choose to shop instead of hunt, and choose to disguise themselves instead of shift. The werewolves are calling for equal rights: the desegregation of busses, stores, and cities - and for better treatment: higher pay, civil rights, and equal opportunity. Ethan has been relatively safeguarded against the civil unrest as he's too busy partying among the wealthiest in Alansa than to care about the social welfare of species' other than humans. Until, he meets Kimani Vae: his destined mate. And he realizes that among all the fearmongering occurring in the city, one thing is for sure: Ethan Hurst has Alpha werewolf blood running through his veins - he just never knew it until now.

Would you risk everything to be free from war and conflict? Even risk your own life? Refugees do this every day, and Najid and Jawl are no different. The war in Syria is getting worse day-by-day, showing no signs of stopping. With their father missing, the siblings and their mother are forced to make it to Europe on their own. They will encounter smugglers, rough seas and borders; but one question remains: will all of them make it to Europe alive? This book is in the genre of realistic fiction, meaning that the scenarios and situations in it are factual and are supported by footnotes of information. The only fictional parts of the book are the characters. ~ At the end of the book in the "Author's Notes, Special Thanks and Acknowledgements" section, there is a link to a quick survey so that I can get feedback on my story :) I would appreciate it if you did it xx

A quiet Sunday dessert turns into a doorway to the past when Thomas's mother hands him a package wrapped in an old Croatian newspaper. Inside is Mr. Morris - the battered teddy bear Thomas hasn't seen since childhood. The name on the box, Eva, is a ghost from another life, and her letter pulls the family into a story Thomas never truly left behind. In the spring of 1992, while Thomas grumbled about tidying his room in peaceful Pécs, a Croatian-Hungarian family fled a burning Sarajevo, racing through checkpoints, curfews, and terror. Through eight-year-old Peter's eyes, horror becomes myth: soldiers are trolls, gunfire is dark magic, and his parents are the wizards keeping him alive. One shared lunch, one small act of kindness, and one bear bind two families together - until a message, decades later, reveals the price that kindness couldn't prevent. Tender, harrowing, and unforgettable, this is a story about innocence in wartime, the long echo of refuge, and how a simple toy can carry a lifetime of love and loss.

"Now what? Sit here? Till the wars over? Are you insane? There killing us, we go back out there, we survive." Josef shook his head, "it's no good," The brothers looked around the dark room, Mikel was nervously shaking, he lifted his hand, and put it to the front of his older brothers face, "see? I'm shaking, you should be to." Josef sat for a moment, "I'm not afraid. Are you?," Mikel moved his hand back, almost looking as if time had frozen, "no." He mumbled, his lips barley moved, setting his hand down, he looked to the ground, "I'm not." Josef stood up, "then let's go," Mikel looked up from the side to his brother, "your serious?" Josef nodded, "let's go before they find us, the Refugees should be boarding the boat by now, I bet we could get someone to lend us a ride."
