Evanna Cutter's life had been, all things considered, reasonably ordinary-well, as ordinary as it could be for a seventeen-year-old with a job like hers. Normality, though, was a slippery concept for Eve. In her short but already turbulent existence, she had seen more than most people could ever imagine. Her mother vanished without warning when Evanna was just eight years old, leaving a hole in her life that no amount of time could truly fill. And then there was her father-Nick Cutter-a brilliant man who spent his days chasing shadows through cracks in time called Anomalies.
Despite all of this chaos swirling around her, Evanna clung to the hope that, somehow, her life remained "normal" by some stretch of the imagination.
That was before everything changed.
Something went terribly wrong.
Her father went through an Anomaly during a mission-one of those mysterious ruptures in the fabric of time and space that no one fully understood. When he returned, he was... different. Stranger still, he insisted that she, Evanna Cutter, shouldn't even exist. To him, she was a complete stranger who merely shared his surname, an echo from a past that was no longer his own.
To Evanna, however, it was like losing her best friend.
What followed was a labyrinth of confusion and heartbreak as Eve struggled to reconnect with this unfamiliar version of the man who had once been her anchor. She grew up under the watchful eyes of a government-run facility, where friendships were forged in fire and trust was as fragile as glass. The boundaries of the universe itself began to blur and fracture, and every certainty she once held was called into question. And yes, she fought dinosaurs. Because, of course, she did.
Through it all, one thing was crystal clear-normal would never, ever be a word to describe this teenager's life.
