Light was brought into Daryl's world when he met Rick Grimes, and they enjoyed fourteen wonderful years together before the world decided it was time to suffer again. It started when Rick was shot on duty, and it just got worse from there. Believing his husband was dead, Daryl left their home with their son, and unborn child in his stomach.

Rick is exiled and Daryl sets out to find him.

Rick was home, lonely as usual. Lori was long gone, leaving him after finding out that their mgarriage was a cover to keep him in the closet. His façade was completely ruined and had been for a while. Who cares when you have met someone so breathtakingly attractive like Daryl?

Everyday he sits by your grave, slouched against it, clinging to your shirt. We don't have a leader anymore. No one can compare to you. We've all lost someone... Some more than others. But you, dad.
