Shizu Shinoda, a quiet and stoic high school senior, is used to the attention of his distant personality-but not the misunderstandings and rumours that come with them. He keeps a small circle of friends, stays out of drama, and read books. But beneath the calm, Shizu carries the weight of a broken past... and a desire to finally move forward.
To escape the noise of his life, Shizu spends his time helping at his aunt's flower shop as part-time worker, where he finds peace among petals and routine. But everything changes on a rainy afternoon when he crosses paths with Rinko Murakami, a bubbly and sincere 11th-grader from another school. As she kneels under a tree, shielding a soaked stray cat with her bag-completely drenched, yet smiling. Shizu silently offers her his umbrella-marking the beginning of something neither of them expected.
Rinko isn't fooled by rumors. She sees through Shizu's stoic exterior and into the quiet sadness he hides. Through gentle persistence and genuine kindness, she begins to draw him out of his shell, showing him what it means to be truly seen and accepted.
Some hearts bloom loudly, reaching for the sky. Others, like Shizu's, unfold slowly-guarded, unsure, shaped by seasons of silence. But with Rinko's quiet presence beside him, he begins to wonder... could something so carefully closed ever bloom again?
