We are damaged, but no one is beyond repair. It never stops, but you can choose for the pain to stop destroying you. We're kind of like glitches in this system. Detected: unknown, uncontrolled, unified, unique. Unlike anything ever seen.

If you're part of the staff that's reviewing texts for competition, you may skip this as I am not from Canada I got inspired by the RiseAbove competition, wanted to give a try. Competitions are good guidelines to get out of writer's block, i guess.

I was just thinking. I swear. But maybe my mind over thought. It's weird that everything can seem so simple, straight forward. Black and white. Two colors. So obvious. So there. Him and Her. Two people. So obvious. So there. But once you add gray, things get kind of complicated. Then you add color. And it's a wonderfully complicated bright world. She's two in one. The storm and the shade. No one ever stops to thank the storm for shading them from what's above it. What if the sun was too strong, too powerful that day and the storm came along just to protect us all from it? It was this epic battle between the two and the storm was hurting and it cased all this damage to the earth. No one thanks the storm for its sacrifice when it finally loses the battle and the sun shows its smug face. We all hate the storm for the disaster it created and praise the sun, when the storm just wanted to protect us. The storm and the shade. She's the storm and the shade. She's the chaos and the calm. Only I can't see the chaos. Not fully. She's keeping it all inside. All I see is the calm. I can tell though. I can tell there's chaos. I just can't see it. It's not so black and white. It's not a simple boy likes girl. Girl likes boy. It never was. But I like her. I do. The storm and the shade.

It hurts more than you think, being cyberbullied. Why? Because it's always there, it can never go away unless you disappear and throw your phone in a ditch. But who wants to do that? So yeah, all of life sucks and then this happens and you just want to go and die. Until someone actually stands up for you. #riseabove #endbullying

Rise above. Stand up to bullying. Make a difference to the world. It only takes one person to start. You be that person and make a change.

Not long ago had Noora Eriksen, a 14 year old girl living in Norway, let the worst of things on the Internet get to her; she had been weak... afraid. I didn't know what to do. I was going to die. They said they had an aim on me. I had to get out. Victoria Jones was just an average girl. She was 16, had brown hair, and green eyes. She was on Wattpad one day when she got a message. "I hope you die." She was taken aback. This came out of nowhere, she didn't even know the person. Victoria kept receiving messages like this until one day she received a message that made her scream. "I found you."

A slam poem about a previous abusive relationship I was in. Tells of my journey and the empowerment I now feel.

Maisy Walker is just trying to fit in. But her "heavy" weight makes that difficult online, constantly being fat-shamed and attacked just for being slightly heavier. But she learns to #RiseAbove the taunting. Written for the #RiseAbove contest. Spreading cyber bullying awareness. Also, I'm going to post an expanded story for Maisy and her friends. It'll be called "Cyber Bytes" in this case however.

She was there, where many have been. In that dark room inside of her mind, where she locked herself up in order to hide the pain and suffering. Her mind was distorted and so was her life. The world just wasn't ready to accept her yet back then. Today, her sincere smile shines bright above any star on the moonless night. I am not Canadian, but I understad the struggle of bullying and cyberbullying. I share this story with you today, in order to show you that even the darkest days have to end, and even the brighest smiles can hide so much pain. Be proud of who you are, never lose hope. There is Love in this world for all of us.
