This ensemble story explores the families we are born into, the ones we choose, and the courage it takes to stand together through life's trials. In Part I: Stand By Me, Army JAG Lieutenant Kaci Tierney begins a new chapter in San Antonio, navigating military life as an autistic woman while carrying grief from her mother's death. Surrounded by family and chosen loved ones, Kaci and those around her confront old wounds, unexpected love, and what it truly means to let someone stand by you. Her father, Cormac, seeks connection after personal loss; Mick Scavo, estranged from his family, learns loyalty can be chosen; Kellen Tierney adjusts to post-military life; and Valencia Aguilar, Kaci's best friend, begins to reclaim her own strength. In Part II: Standing As One, the story deepens as the characters navigate the challenges of caring for one another and building found family. Bianca Tierney adjusts to life as a new mother while learning to trust again. Gomez Cordero, an Army JAG, takes on guardianship of his nephew and niece while confronting difficult family dynamics. Jesse Holland faces the legacy of early loss, while his mother, Tara Sorenson, discovers that love and new beginnings are possible even after decades of grief. Maren Scavo continues forging a life free from the expectations that once defined her. From learning to stand by one another to ultimately standing as one, these interconnected lives explore grief, healing, love, and loyalty-and the power of chosen family in shaping who we become.

Cyberbullying is all around the world. Let's raise awareness. Year of writing: 2017 #RiseAbove

As we read in Wattpad's work, Contests, 47% of Canadians have experienced cyber bullying. I don't know about you, but being Canadian, that scares me! So I thought that this challenge would be a great way to express how I view cyber bullying. It's not a true story but it's heartbreaking all the same. I hope that when you read this you can take a lesson from it. Whether it's the fact that even bystanding is bullying, or maybe you took away from this some ideas that you can use to help victims. Whatever it is please enjoy this story and raise awareness for this campaign. Also, if you are upset that you couldn't enter, please don't be. I think that if you truly want to raise awareness for cyber bullying than you will #RiseAbove your anger for the exclusion and just write a story anyways. Wattpad isn't doing this so that people can make themselves well known. It's to make cyber bullying well known. Please don't be upset, share your story, share someone else's story. Do it for cyber bullying, not for yourself. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: If you happen to come upon my story please read other stories tagged #RiseAbove. Everyone's voices deserve to be heard and not one person, Canadian or not, should be forgotten. Everyone has a story all around the world and we should all take the time to read them.

Eva watches the posts pop up every night and doesn't speak a word. But when she accidentally gets closer to Cathy, it slowly gets tougher to keep quiet about the bullying she witnesses each day. Cathy seems to be pulling further away from everyone and has no desire to bring a teacher into her mess and make things complicated. But Eva is finding it harder to keep quiet with all the guilt building up around her and when she finds out the creator of the website is much closer to her than she thought, doing the right thing seems almost impossible. With her 'friends' telling her to keep quiet, Cathy falling away and her own guilt pulling at her, Eva has to decide if speaking out is really worth it or if she should just listen to everyone and stay a simple bystander.
