What if dominant and submissive weren't identities but states, contextual responses to the needs of the moment? What if true synergy in a relationship came from the ability to dance between roles rather than being locked into them? What begins as a therapeutic hypothesis becomes a personal revolution when Maya must apply her own theory to her life-and discover that deconstructing others' roles is easier than deconstructing her own.

They met on set as co-stars in a romcom movie-just two people pretending to be in love for the cameras. Lines were scripted, scenes were planned, and nothing was supposed to be real.
