Sky was just an average teenage girl who lived a normal and easy life on Earth with her family and her friends. She thought her life would be a bit easygoing and fun, but she also thought she wished she could be something extraordinary like a strong superhero one day. But one day, Sky and her friends have discovered a falling star that landed on earth and found a purple dragon who was one of the strange creatures who they are called the Skylanders. And then, they were suddenly transported into the world of Skylands. Now, Sky and her friends will join up with the Skylanders and some characters named Hugo, Flynn, and Cali, and help them recreate a barrier called the Core of Light and defeat an evil dark portal master named Kaos to save the world, both Earth and Skylands.

Jeszcze do niedawna istniały dwa zaprzyjaźnione królestwa: Kharos, któremu patronowała piękna i tajemnicza bogini księżyca i Solaria będąca pod opieką czarującej bogini słońca. Oba utrzymywały sojusz, wymieniając się surowcami i wspierając w trudnych czasach. Jednak wszystko zmieniło się, gdy Król Altharis, władca Kharos, zwiedziony przez złotowłosą boginię gwiazdy dnia, postanowił zdradziecko zaatakować Solarię. Jego armia, składająca się z przedstawicieli różnych ras zamieszkujących Kharos, uderzyła niespodziewanie, nie dając Solarii szans na skuteczną obronę. W krótkim czasie Altharis podbił królestwo ludzi i objął nad nim władzę. Aby umocnić swoją pozycję, podczas publicznej egzekucji zgładził pokonanego króla Solarii. Nie wiedział jednak, że prawowity następca tronu zdołał przeżyć. Młody książę, zmuszony do ukrywania się wśród zwykłego ludu, planuje odzyskanie swojego królestwa. Niestety, jego tropem podążają strażnicy Altharisa: bezwzględni łowcy, którzy otrzymali rozkaz, by odnaleźć i zgładzić ostatniego potomka królewskiej linii.
