Love and loss are universal, and even reach beyond our solar system. Witness the power of love and the devastation it can bring in these short stories. Most of these are inspired by the 2019 Trials of Love prompts, and I've been adding other bits and pieces as inspiration hits.

Be they fairy tales or real-life accounts, love has always come at a price. Here are a collection of stories that speak of the trials of Love.

This is my submission to the "The Choices I Face - Contest" for dangerouslove. He says he loves you, but that love comes with pain, it comes with a price you are not sure you are willing to pay. You've been through this before. You thought those feelings disappear in the darkness once you left your ex-lover. But that simple 5 minutes encounter was enough to prove you wrong. The question is are you willing to fight this time and risk it all for this dangerous yet tempting love or you run away and move on with your life? There's nothing scarier than the possibility of losing the person closest to you. Note: This is inspired by personal events that have occurred in my own life. Everything the characters feel is truthful in every way with how my family and I have (and still) felt. The passing of my brother hurt me and this will express everything one could go through. Also, this is a one shot. There will be nothing else unless I feel like going deeper into it. And then, it would be called something different. With a more reliable (and legal) job, being introduced to the greatest friend he's ever had, and a nice apartment it seems like nothing could go wrong. We live in the City of Love for a reason. On every corner, on every street, there is some reminder of the newly found romances, of the secret meetings, of all the trials of love that go on despite HawkMoth and Mayura's villainous reign over the city. A sign that Paris still has hope. Yet... With the superheroes that roam Paris daily, you'd think there'd be at least some romance between the heroes, at least some special connection that makes them such a wonderful team of heroes. Especially the duo that started it all. The bug and cat who vowed to end this war. But with HawkMoth and Mayura sending threat after threat, akuma after akuma, there isn't time for romance. There isn't time for friendship. The heroes seem to trust each other, but is that really the case? Or are they all hiding what they really feel because of Paris constantly needing their protection? Every story has an obstacle. And sometimes that obstacle is yourself.

The home where everyone belongs

There is a long-standing myth of a planet with blue skies and water. Late at night, Elders from all planets would point up at the sky and retell legends of furry beasts, where flying mammals marred the sky with lullabies, trailing shadows above abundant trees. For eons, the Bureau of Space Exploration searched for the alleged sapphire planet and all forms of life in Cosmos Redshift 7 banded together in an effort to find new life, to form new allies. And in the BSE's Space Craft Center, Hheli and Merci created a bond stronger than any fighter brigade could ever fathom. There is one problem though. Merci and Hheli's haven't talked in deciquads. Not to mention, their bodies cannot live in the other's conditions. Hailing from Traxi, Merci relies on high doses of carbon dioxide. And ironically, Hheli was born on Norctune, where the sun doesn't shine and the air is thick with oxygen. Is this just a problem they can't fix?
