One uneventful day can change in a blink of an eye. From having a normal life like mine, to fighting demon baby monsters and flying hovercrafts at the age of sixteen may sound fun, but the danger that comes with it tends to overlay it a little bit. I look out my window, watching the girls outside laughing and talking on their way home from school. As usual, they stop and wait for one girl, a tall brunette, to fix her infinitely untied shoe. One of the girls, the shortest, stands on her toes to see over another's shoulder, also per routine. The other girls turn, see me through the glass, and wave. I smile sadly and wave my reply, then step back and close the heavy curtains behind me...as usual. I wish I could join them everyday as they pass by; wish more than anything I could talk and laugh with them and forget my worries, even if it were for just a moment. I wish I could, but I can't.
