"I have an other suggestion," Akber's wife chimed in again. "If nobody wants to be responsible, then let's share the responsibility. Let each of us suggest a single digit."
"That's smart," Akber agreed, always fond of his wife's proposals and gave me a number.
"Two."
I repeated, "Two."
His wife added, "Nine."
"Zero," Kamal contributed, then turned to his wife. "Your turn." He says close to her ear.
"Me? I don't know what to say." She hesitated for a bit "Okay - four."
Murad joined in, "Five."
Only Murad's wife didn't have a chance to suggest a number because the telephone began ringing.
It rang and rang but nobody picked up
"My fiancΓ© must be sleeping," I quipped, and everyone burst into laughter.
I than hung up the phone.
