Mandavi was born a Rajkumari of Sankashya and raised in the court of Janak, where daughters were not taught silence. They were taught to question, to observe, and to demand answers. Then came the exile. When Ram, Rajkumar of Ayodhya, left for the forest with Sita and Lakshman, the exile did not belong only to those who went with him.
