This is an extract from my Dark Fantasy fiction novel entitled Ruin... The Fall of Night. It's still a work in progress and will be for some time but go ahead and have a little taste of it anyway. Ruin is a Nightwalker- the name given by the common people to members of the Order of Night. The men and women of the Order are born with a demonic entity inside them, a darker self; cruel and malicious and always fighting for freedom. The High Servants of the Order favour those who manage to defeat their darker selves and force them into submission. But Ruin's darker self is just too strong and he can barely contain it, let alone beat it. The story follows Ruin's struggle to find his place in a world of chaos while he fights a losing battle to stay in control as his darker self threatens to consume him. This scene is from the point of view of a guardsman as he tells his friends of the heart-stopping time he chanced to meet Ruin out in the darkness of the plain. Unfortunately for him he was all alone. And Ruin wasn't in the best of moods....

When Erene finally had her past covered up, things start happening again. and they are digging up her past bit by bit. when she finally told her bestie her past, she faces more problems than she begun with. and then there was a tradition tying her down. would she dare defy her tradition? Or maybe what if all this was fake? or maybe not? would she manage to keep on running and avoid everything while losing her beloved and most importantly... who she was...
