Scarlet and Alexander have been close since the start. When Scarlet goes from Ireland to America to be with her father, everything takes a turn for the worse. Alexander already was staying at Scarlet's father's house, because his parents had died when he was very young. All of his relatives had passed, all he had left was distant-relatives. His distant-relatives allowed him to stay with Scarlet's father. One night when Alex and Scarlet are left alone in the house, their lives will never be the same again. A man decides to go for a hike on an Appalachian trail in Virginia on a beautiful day, unfortunately, misfortune came along and ruined his scenic hike. It was a peaceful day, until the ground gave away underneath his feet, and suddenly he found himself beneath the surface. Now trapped inside of some uncharted cave systems, the man must look for a way out or hold out for rescue.

When an accident strikes and kills her best friend, Aurora is, obviously, devastated. But fear for her own life spikes when she is taken by a stranger who happened to be at the scene of the crime. Not knowing which way is up, Aurora finds herself in a sticky situation as she discovers fate has a cruel way of saving the unknown. She discovers things about herself that she never thought possible, and much more about her biological mother and the blood line they are a part of. Her emotions are the object of a tug of war with what is right and what is meant to be. Does she side with her kind? Or does she side with the stranger that pulled her into this mess, and much more, that she is in love with?

Most women care of how they appear. How much they weigh. What others think. How people react to them. Most girls react bad enough that it makes them stop eating completely. They act fine but refuse to swallow the thing that keeps their body moving. Most girls look in the mirror and think 'Ugly. Fat. No one will love you if you are fat.' Most girls believe this and damage the body that lets them see the world. Devastating, but true. Society is cruel to those who are beautiful and play with your heart. Most can't handle people telling them they are fat, ugly, waste of space, monstrosity, animal, beast. But the one word that makes anyone lose it is, "The world would be better if you were dead."
