After the Lights Go Down is a collection of one-shots about love in its quietest moments - after the applause fades, after the door closes, after the world finally goes still. These stories live in the soft places: tired hearts, gentle hands, coming home to someone who sees you when you're no longer shining for everyone else. Each chapter is its own moment, its own love story, written for when you need comfort, reassurance, or a reminder that being held can be enough.

Some stories begin with love. This one begins with finding yourself. It is about healing quietly, learning to trust, letting people go without letting go of the love you have for them, and discovering that growing doesn't always mean becoming someone new. Sometimes, it simply means becoming comfortable with who you already are. And somewhere between ordinary days, silent gestures, unexpected kindness, and feelings left unspoken, a connection begins to grow. No grand promises. No rushing. No love at first sight. Just two lives slowly becoming important to each other- before either of them is ready to give it a name.

**He Didn't Fix Her, He Stayed** is a heartfelt poem about the kind of friendship that quietly changes a person. Sometimes, we don't need someone to solve our problems. We simply need someone who will sit with us, listen to our endless thoughts, and make us feel that our feelings are not too much. Through Minakshi and Anand, this poem explores how patience, understanding, and simply being present can bring comfort to someone who is struggling. Anand doesn't take away Minakshi's problems-he just makes sure she never feels completely alone while facing them. A poem about friendship, emotional safety, and the quiet ways one person can make another person's world a little lighter. About the Author I am Lavanya Y. Rao, a new writer who finds stories and poems in the people and moments that leave a mark on my heart. I wrote this poem while remembering a really good friend of mine-someone I met at a time when I simply wanted someone to listen to me. He has listened to me for hours, and many times, he doesn't even try to give me advice. He just lets me talk until I have completely ranted out everything that has been bothering me. In many ways, he has become like my personal diary. I tell him about almost everything that happens in my life-the happy moments, the sad ones, the frustrations, the little things, and everything in between. He listens without making me feel like I am saying too much. His birthday recently passed, and I wanted to write something for him-not just as a birthday wish, but as a small thank-you for always being there. Not a real story but it's with real content and a pinch of fiction. The story follows two souls, uncertain about the future, who come together and slowly discover how perfectly they fit. They let it go like it was nothing- not knowing some things return only when they matter the most.

Soon I'm going to die; not from an illness or anything simply by my own hand. In short, I'm going to commit suicide. So this is my book for people to read when I die as a little insight into my thoughts on the shitty world we live in. This book will probably not show a positive outlook for life because in short I'm depressed, severely depressed so therefore I'm not going to be very positive really am I?
