One Ok Rock's music didn't just play in my ears - it kept me alive. When I wanted to give up on myself, trapped in a hole I couldn't climb out of, their songs became the heartbeat whispering: "Keep going."
While writing this poem, "Save Yourself" kept playing in my mind. I don't know if it was the rhythm, the lyrics, or both, but the hypnotizing melody and vibrating soundtrack shook something loose in me. This poem isn't about the song. It's what grew from its echo - the ocean left behind when the music fades.
This is also for everyone who's ever felt like water - poured into shapes that weren't theirs. For those who stood still, forgetting how to flow. It's about remembering you were never meant to be contained. You were meant to be the ocean.
